Te Whakarōputanga is a membership-based organisation, representing New Zealand state and state-integrated schools and kura.
We also provide services to all New Zealand school boards on a contract-for-service partnership with the Ministry of Education. Find out more here.
Te Whakarōputanga boasts a high level of membership among New Zealand school boards. We’ve achieved and maintained this high level of connection because we deliver real benefits to our member boards. The scale of our membership means we are recognised as the voice of school boards in New Zealand.
We offer a range of publications, events and other benefits exclusively for member boards.
Te Whakarōputanga members enjoy exclusive access to the latest thinking and emerging trends in governance, networking, learning opportunities, events and resources, all of which enable them to flourish.
Te Whakarōputanga member boards enjoy exclusive access to a range of publications and communications, which provide analysis of current and emerging issues and provide governance, employment and sector issues both here in New Zealand and internationally. These communications are designed to provide value in terms of strengthening sector knowledge and supporting boards to ensure effective governance.
Te Whakarōputanga runs a nationwide programme of professional development and networking events exclusively for member boards. We also run an annual Study Awards programme to support lifelong learning and contribution by our members.
Our members believe in us and have confidence that we represent their values and views because we have a personal connection with them through our regional networks. The strength we have regionally is used to effect and influence change at a national level.
